I have yet to be able to backup to iCloud. Whenever I click on backup now, it goes to the 'estimating time remaining' /backing up spinning hourglass and stays there until i exit out. It will do that for hours.
iPhone 4, OS5, Plugged in to the wall and confirmation of charging icon, wi-fi up and running correctly, plenty of iCloud space available.

Same problem here as well. It gets stuck on estimating time remaining and then says that the backup couldnt be completed. I have had my iphone for a year and a half and used multiple wifi locations and have never got this to work.
So this has not been answered yet? My iCloud is working but my wife's is not...😟
I have this problem come up with an ipad mini. It backed up on May 19, 2013 but now hangs up at "estimating time remaining" I have reset the ipad mini. No change. There is plenty of storage on icloud.
i would probably try forgetting your wifi network and rejoining. that error is almost always due to a bad wifi connection. you can, in fact, be connected to your wifi network, but if your phone isn't connected to the intranet, you're not going to get any information to transfer. you can also test my theory by temporarily turning off cellular data, then trying to get on the internet on your phone. if you're connected correctly to your intranet, the page won't load
Also, if your phone is, in fact, using iOS 5.0.1 like your profile states,you really should update. There's no way of knowing if your issue is related to the fact that your software is so old or not
This is an ipad mini without 3g. I did reset the wireless. It has the latest OS installed.

are you able to use safari to load a website on your mini?
