Feb 4, 2012 12:28 PM in response to sammiocby rainbowdrops,No, you don't need a Nike + sensor or adapter for the 6th gen ipod Nano.
The 1.2 OS update meant that the sensor was not necessary anymore. Which was a shame for me because I bought one especially before they updated it...but it is so much more convenient not having to use the sensor!

Feb 4, 2012 7:33 PM in response to sammiocby julianfrommeridian,Hello sammioc.
The reason you would have the Nike + iPod Sport Kit for the 6th gen nano is if you wanted to upload and track your workout data on the Nike website. If you are not doing that then it is not needed.
Hope this helps.

Feb 5, 2012 2:25 AM in response to julianfrommeridianby rainbowdrops,I've stopped using the nike+ sensor and adapter since the update and all my runs are still uploaded to the nike+ website seemlessly when I connect my pod to itunes.
To be honest, as far as I can see, the update to the 6th generation nano makes the nike+ sensort and adapter completely unnecessary.

Feb 26, 2012 8:21 AM in response to sammiocby FallonAZ,It clearly states on the apple website that "*For iPod nano (6th generation), the Nike + iPod Sport Kit is optional and only required for workouts using the Polar Wearlink®+ Heart Rate Transmitter for Nike+."

Feb 1, 2015 2:43 PM in response to julianfrommeridianby Osaka_Jammer,Hey, sorry to bring up an oldpost buti've heard that having the nike+ sport kit is more accurate (evenafter the update) than just using the built in pedometer, can anyone confirm?
I'm thinking of getting 6th gen nano and deciding whether or not to get the sport kit with it too for improved accuracy.
