My friend got an Epson Stylus NX430 printer to use ONLY with her Ipad. There is no other computer involved.

She simply plugged the printer into power, downloaded the Epson Iprint and Epson Printer Finder APPS on her Ipad and walla, it connect or found the printer.

I have the exact same scenario and did the same steps, only my Ipad says cannot find a printer.?????

All the printing applications (AirPrint or Epson's apps) work over a wifi network. How is your friend's printer connected to that wireless network? I think you may be leaving out a few steps here.

And BTW, it's not "walla". It's "Voila", from the French.

Here is how I got the AirPrint function of iOS to work with my Epson NX4300 printer. I installed the software on my computer that came with the printer itself. Then, after installing the software on my computer, I installed firmware updates to the printer to make sure that it would be able to use the AirPrint function. After this, I went to the Download Navigator application that is installed from the CD included with the NX4300. There will be an update for Download Navigator, so make sure you install this. After installing the update for Download Navigator, there will be updates and additional software to download. Make sure that you download this software and install it to your computer, as it is essential for AirPrint. After the software is installed go to the newly installed Epson Printer Finder application that is installed. This will give you a list of all of the Epson Printers compatible with this software. Select the printer you wish to enable AirPrint to and proceed to the settings menu. In the settings menu, you are greeted with a list of network settings, one of which is for AirPrint. Click on the AirPrint icon and you are greeted with Bonjour settings. To have this work, I set the Location to the IP address of my printer. After you have finished with these settings click ok. It will ask you if you want to keep these settings and if they are correct click ok again. You will either be prompted with a success or failure. Failures are typically due to trying to mess with these settings while trying to print a document simultaneously. If a success occurs, for the iOS you are trying to AirPrint to, download the Epson Printer Finder App for your iOS device. After downloading this app, if you are connected to the same WiFi network as your printer, you should see it in a menu on your device. Tap the printer that you wish to AirPrint from. This will send you to the menu you were greeted to on your computer. Now go to the AirPrint icon again. You should see that the settings are already configured to how you configured them on your computer. Click ok twice. You should see a success icon. If not, try restarting your device and try again. Now, tap the arrow in Safari, then the Print icon. Tap select printer, then the Epson Printer that you just configured. It should now find the printer and you should now be able to use AirPrint with your iOS devices and your Epson NX4300. Hope this helps
