iMac, screen background
Open Terminal and type
arp -a
you got in return one or more lines like this
(192.168.1.10) at 0:17:78:ee:ce:8f on en0 ifscope [ethernet]
In this case 192.168.1.10 is the router's IP address and 0:17:78:ee:ce:8f is its MAC address
I'm pretty sure you'll need to login to your router - have you got the login details.
In a web browser it is often (although not always) http://192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 - that should take you to a login window where you will need to know the login info for your particular router. It's often
login: admin
password: admin or password (what router have you got and do you have any literature with this info on?)
Once you're in you should be able to find all the info you need about your router.
