iPod Touch (4th gen) won't sync..

I installed a new operating system on my laptop, which is Windows 8. I legally have it because this is a developers preview of it. I had Windows Vista before and synced my iPod all the time with no trouble. Now I have iTunes on Windows 8, moved the music and apps over to it and now I want to sync. I plugged it in, my iPod beeped (The power plug-in beep) and then did nothing else. I looked on the left of iTunes, it didn't show my iPod. What can I do? Also, I have my apps organized, will I lose the organization when I sync?

Thank you!

I would look to see if Windows 8 is compatible with iPod syncing since Apple has not released anything saying it is and also since this is because you have a developer preview instead of the full-fledged version.
