Apple / About this Mac / System Profiler (More Info) then in the left column click on Serial-ATA and it will show something like:

Rotational Rate: 7200

I know this is an old question, but for future searchers, here is the answer:

In OS X Mountain Lion, go to Apple Menu (top left corner), "about this mac", then click on "more info" then click on "system report".

Under "Hardware" on left-hand side, click on "SATA/SATAExpress"

(do NOT go to "Storage" this will just show the space available info and other stuff, but not the RPM)

SATA/SATAExpress will show you the rotational rate (RPM) which will usually be either 5400 or 7200

(a bigger number is better, so 7200 will get you faster reads/writes)

How can i know the RPM of my HD?
