Q: Repetitive clicking noise on SSD Macbook Air

Thank you, (strongly) tapping the top left corner above the escape key actually worked! The fan immediately *whirred* to life and then everything went silent again. The clicking noise was driving me insane, it sounded like a miniature crab was stuck in my computer.

Just simply open your back cover with proper screwdriver,.. Rotate your fan by your hand till it smooth feel,.. and power on carefully with the case opened,..

see if the fan blow?

repeat if the fan still stop,.. I did that in my new MBA just bought 2 weeks ago,..and the fan exactly the same as your problem,. Success for me,..Now everything is OK

i tried and sound stopped, but fan is whirling loudly now, will it stop?

I was experiencing the same problem and the knock did it for me! I had to "hit" the top left back side once with medium force and my laptop made a clicking noise and then the fan started moving. All fixed! Thanks!

Wow - this worked! I knocked the bottom, then svuuuuuush and the sound is gone!!! I first tried knocking the top, but it did not work, so thank you!

OMG this worked, a hard few bangs with fingers top left of the escape button caused the fans to clear and kick in, thanks!
