iPad screen weirdness ?

I am experiencing a weirdness with my iPad.

Multiple times, after I use my iPad at night I set it onto my nightstand. Typically, I put it face down on my nightstand. In the middle of the night I am awoken by my iPad hitting the floor.

I don't believe In telekinesis or ghosts, so figure it must be some sort of static electric build up under the screen that eventually is significant enough to repell the iPad off the books it is sitting on, onto the floor.

For the past several nights I have put the iPad face up and then placed a copy of finnigan's wake on top of the screen. On three occasions, tonight as well, finnigans wake is on the floor as if it was lifted up off the iPad.

Am I crazy?

All my kids are in college and not home. The few cats we have are outside.

What is up ?

Thanks and a tip o' the hat.

Don't know the answer to that, but it is highly doubtful, the iPad could build up a static charge to any level that would have it move (not a good idea putting a naked screen face down, btw). Plus, you said you put a book on the iPadt (not a good idea by the way) the book is now falling off the iPad on the floor. I often find my tv remoted on the floor in the morning. If I move the remote to the other side of my nightstand, it never winds up on the floor. This had led me to conclude that in my sleep, I must move my arms around and I am the one who pushed the remote on the floor. Here's a suggestion. Don't put your iPad within arms reach when you are sleeping. Don't put it face down on any surface. And don't put anything on top of your device. Actually, the best advice would be to buy yourself a nice protective case to keep your iPad nice and safe.

I have just found this thread - two years on - because my new iPad Air is doing the same thing! Face down on a book on the nightstand and it ends up on the floor! I am still waiting for the Apple case to arrive, which is why it was face down to protect the screen! It has happened twice now. I can find no other references on the web but there must be some underlying reason? To make matters worse, lastnight it took my reading glasses with it and cracked one of the lenses! My wife is convinced we have a poltergeist!
