I can receive but not send mail from my iPhone4

I can receive email on my iPhone 4, but am no longer able to send it. I upgraded to 5.0.1 recently.

I get a message saying my outgoing mail server rejects the recipient, or the connection failed, or

I don't have the correct password - which is incorrect.

I also no longer see an 'outgoing' folder when mail can't be delivered.

I've tried repeatedly to put the correct information into the outgoing mail primary server, but when I check back

the info has disappeared again.

Receiving mail is no problem.

Any ideas?

Hi, I am having the same problem. Deleted aol then added, but still the same. I have just set up a mail address for iCloud and strangely that one seems to be both sending and receiving. Checked that primary address is my aol account and did all the things suggested on support site. The only way I can reply to an email is manually transferring it to the iCloud account first. Really annoying.

When you intially set up your email account - depending on what account i.e. comcast/hotmail..etc

you enter your email and password and if you look closely this is for incoming mail server, which is why you can receive mail,

Below that you should see outgoing mail server - click on that server - it should have your username on it already but your password is blank, now enter the password and it should work.

Hi !

I had the same problem, but I realised that I changed my password and that the problem was that I could'nt send any emails because there are two servers informations to fill in, and I only made the modification in my settings for the 'incoming mail server' and not for the SMTP 'outgoing' one that is used to send emails... Now it all works perfectly : )

You have to click on it and then you can change your stuff.

I hope it will help you because it's true that when you change your password, you don't necessarly think about modifying all of your settings on all of your devices.
