Can I add two credit cards to one Apple ID?

Hi,

I would like to know whether it is possible to add two different credit cards to one apple account. I have an Italian account but am currently in Australia, therefore would like to use my Australian credit card. Do I need to create two different Apple ID's or can I just add another credit card onto my current one.
