I just can hear mono on ipod classic 5th Generation

If I use my iPod with headphones then I can just hear mono! Anyone who knows how to fix this problem?

When is the last time, that you hear stereo on this 'mono' song, and are you hearing mono on all songs.

If it is like last week is stereo, and this week mono then

Reset your iPod by pressing Menu and Center button for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON , then release the buttons.

If you don't use your headphones, you can hear stereo from somewhere else? Sorry about this bummer inquiry.

It is on all songs mono, also without the headphones (wenn I conect it with the sound system).

The reset doesn´t help.

Any other ideas?

Apple would change the ipod put that will cost 170€- thats too much!

You connect the sound system to the iPod via the iPod dock or just using a RCA jack?

If it is via Ipod Dock, then the Audio chip circuitry in the iPod is kaput!, bad mounting.

If it is RCA jack, it maybe cheaper to replace the Audio jack circuitry, eBay selling it for less than 10USD, but opening the iPod is another big exercise, need proper tools and steady hands.

You can Google a 3rd party iPod service in your Area, then ask for a quotation, yah 170€ is almost the cost of a new iPod.
