Music app is slow on iOS5, iPhone 4

No issues here. Everything is as snappy as it was in ios 4.x, even faster now. Make sure you don't have a million songs on there and try other music apps such OOTunes to make sure they are not slow.

I am having the same issues. Its really, really slow. I have been researching it, and apparently its the album art, there is some bug. But i dont want to go through and remove or resize all my album art! it took me years to get it perfect. I tried resizing them to 250px. but half way through I realized it looks like crap, so I am going back to change all of them back to bigger sizes.

APPLE NEED TO FIX THIS!

It also crashes from time to time, and cuses my phone to freeze. When the phone is locked and the music app is running it takes a few seconds to unlock - it is so annoying.

Same here. I thought I'd see how well the "Genius" bar worked this weekend and showed them. Their answer was to restore the phone (not from backup but complete restore). Sorry but a solution that loses all of my app settings and destroys data is not a solution at all.

So apples 'Genius' was solution was to restore the phone and not put any of our music back on there?

yeah... That is a genius solution! dont put any music on your phone at all, excellent solution! But we bough the phone to be able to use it as an iPod as well as a phone. I can guarantee you; the moment you restore it, even if you dont back it up. Once you put all your music back on there, you will have the same issue. The problem is there is a lot of music and album art. Even though it is the same amount you had before, but there was a bug with iOS5.0.1.

Has anyone that was having issues before with 5.0.1 tried out 5.1 to see if the bug was fixed in the latest update? I havent had the time to try it yet.
