Mail Shortcut for sending account?

Is there a way to create a shortcut to choose the "From" account in mail?

If you mean always sending from a scpeific account, then yes. If you go into Mail's preferences, and click the "Composing" tab, you can select what account you want all of your mail to be sent from. It's about halfway down.

p.s. If this solves your problem, don't forget to mark your question as "Solved" so others can find the answer too.

Thanks for the answers folks!

I was probably unclear. What I mean is the following:

I am writing a mail. I want the sender to be one of the other accounts that I have.

Instead of lifting my hands from the keyboard, grabbing the mouse, and click on the correct mail account in the popupmenu, I'd just like to strike a shortcut on the keyboard.

Since I am writing quite many emails each day, this would save me a lot of time.

The thing is this;

Earlier I was able to set a shortcut in System Preferences by typing the exact name as it appears in the Sender menu. Then I changed name in one of the accounts, and also in the System Preferences and after that none of the shortcuts works!

If you aren't aware of this it's made from the System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts. As described here:http://articles.directorym.com/Set_Mails_sending_account_via_keyboard_shortcut-a 962070.html

I had a function that worked flawless, made a simple change, and now none of the shortcuts work. 😟

Any ideas?

PS. I don't want to use the "Tab to all things"-feature because I think it's messy.

I just tried some things; If I remove my name from the account preferences the email address only shows in the list, and if I then change the shortcut in System Preferences to only the email address it works!

When you also add a name, Mail adds a space and "<>" to the menu item which is impossible to let System Preferences understand...

Eg;

Does not work:

Jack Bauer <jb@ctu.org>

Does work:

jb@ctu.org
