I tried to upgrade iphone and now the phone is stuck with the itunes usb cable logo and says unable to continue with activation at this time.

I tried to upgrade my iphone and had to go through restore. now phone is just stuck. The phone is still recognized in itunes and i turned off all firewalls to get this to work . It went all the way to the end, said it was restored, then said something about pairing which disappeared from screen. Said wait for phone to turn back on but that didn't happen.

You have an activation issue. You will need to plug your device into a computer with a active internet connection and have the latest version of itunes 10.5.1..

If iTunes is still not activating the device do a restore on the phone.

Itunes says It says it is restoring iphone software, shows the apple logo on phone screen with advancing loading bar, verifying iphone software, verifying iphone restore, screen bar keeps advancing, restoring iphone firmware, iphone has been restored to factory settings, then empty loading bar on phone screen which fills, then iphone disappears from itunes, shows back up itunes logo/with usb cable back on screen, and iphone is again recognized in itunes, wityh rotating download icon by it, then we're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time. Please try again later, or contact customer care. this was a working iphone 5 hours ago, I just screwed up and upgraded the os.

You didn't say what kind of computer or operating system you have, which makes it harder to make suggestions, but I'll try anyway.

If it is a Windows computer open a command window in Administrator mode (I can't tell you how to do this without knowing the OS) and type:

netsh winsock reset

Then reboot the computer and connect the iPhone. If it still doesn't activate find the hosts file on your computer, and delete any lines that contain gs.apple.com. Again, the procedure for doing this varies with computer type and operating system.

I tried to upgrade iphone and now the phone is stuck with the itunes usb cable logo and says unable to continue with activation at this time.
