How long should it take icloud.com to update from changes made to address book?

How long should it take icloud.com to update from changes made to address book?

We've had a lot of issues with our address book so before I do too many changes (ie. delete duplicates, updates) I want to make sure that everything is synching correctly.

I am making the changes in address book, on contact from "iCloud". I am seeing some changes being made at icloud.com - do I just need to be more patient? Does it take time? Or should it update as soon as I hit refresh contacts.

We've had so many issues getting address book to work properly - it seems we are really close to a solution.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Changes take place immediately for me.

It seems like we have all of that in place -

I'm getting the impression that it is no longer updating though.

Again, I am making changes to the address book, but the changes are not reflecting on my icloud.com account.

Does the volume of contacts make a difference? There are about 4,000.

It would make sense to me that the changes would go through right away but, alas.

Sigh - this has been such a pain!

I have a similar (slightly larger) number of contacts, changes take seconds at most, almost instantaneous.

Oh my goodness.... I just did all this work in the address book - and when I closed it and opened it again - all the contacts, email addresses and changes I had made are back!!!! Because I assume they are synching from iCloud, and since iCloud is not updating it is not remembering my changes....

If no one has any further advice, do you know who I might be able to contact. Long story short - iCloud and my address book are not synching... and it's causing problems! Help!!

Open Address Book>Preferences>Accounts, verify that iCloud is present, list any additional accounts for me when you post back

Open System Preferences>Mail Contacts and Calendars, verify that contacts is turned on

Open System Preferences>iCloud and verify that contacts are turned on there

Then go to www.iCloud.com, login and verify that the online contacts are as you want them to be.

I have been dealing with this all day - I know the problem doesn't lie with the accounts. We have discovered that when I make changes on iCloud, they update all immediately to address book - but when I make a change to address book it isn't sending that change to iCloud- at least not fast enough - because it is taking so long, when address book syncs with iCloud again, since they are still on iCloud, they are simple coming back into my address book...

example -

In address book, I delete a contact "Sue Brown".... when I look in iCloud, she is still there.

I close address book to do something else.

When I open address book again, "Sue Brown" is still there.

If I delete "Sue Brown" from iCloud, she is gone from both right away.
