adding sound to gawker time lapse movie?

I made a movie using gawker time lapse and would like to add music to it. I tried importing it to imovie, and it would appear to download. Once done downloading i was unable to find it anywhere. Is there anyway i can add sound without imovie or just by using gawker? Or do i have to convert the files for imovie, and if so how do i do that?
