Sony Ericsson MW-600, what's your experience with it?

Hi there, I've been looking around trying to find an appealing substitute to a Sony Ericsson headset HBH-DS205 and based on what I've seen I still prefer Sony Ericsson devices of the like. I see the headset MW-600 is available and for a number of reasons I believe I should go for it (newer might mean better battery, less chances to present bluetooth connection with my iPhone) but I would still like to hear opinions from those who actually own the MW-600 so, what can you say?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1, SE HBH-DS205

I'm having terrible issues with my MW-600 in combination with the iPhone 4s. The headset hangs every few phone calls. It has come to the point when I turn it off after finishing a call, to turn it on again prior to dialing a number or after answering an incoming call. If I turn it on during a call, the transfer from the iPhone to the headset is generally smooth.

I have had this headset for a while, and it worked OK with my iPhone 3GS under iOS 4. I had to restart it once every second day and sometimes more frequent than that. With iPhone 4s and iOS 5 it's anywhere between one and 5 calls.

The reason I keep it is because I mainly use it for audio book listening to and from work. It works great for listening to music or audio books. I'm hoping it will work better after the next iOS update...

Thank you both for sharing your experiences. I've bought it already through Amazon and it's on its way now. I do see the battery will last longer than that of the HBH-DS205, that plays music for around 3 hr only. Connection-wise, I hope it isn't worst than the HBH-DS205. There are two things that come to my mind, it seems that these headsets are made to fade in and out when the music starts/stops. The erratic performance might have to do with that. The other thing I noticed is that the connection might break more due to interference, I came to this conclusion today when I was at a department store shopping for the family and saw that, away from the electronics department, the connection was pretty much uninterrupted, and that as soon as I got to the electronics department, the audio kept on breaking.

We'll see, thanks again..!

I have more or less given up on this headset in combination with the iPhone 4s. I have asked Sony Ericsson about firmware upgrades to the MW-600, but they don't provide any for this headset. My unit was actually replaced for a new one a couple of months back, because my old one just died on me one day. I was hoping the new one would have an upgraded firmware, but I experienced the same problems with the new unit.

My guess is that Apple is at fault here, and that they need to make some upgrades to the Bluetooth functions of iOS 5. Hopefully we will se an iOS upgrade soon...

Just bought the MW600 and it has bluetooth problems when acting as Phone headset with Mac Lion.

I don't think the problem is the Mac (which works fine with other devices), but according to the many other threads, the problem is more likely to be the MW600 firmware.

And Sony confirmed over the phone that no firmware update is possible :-(

This is not my first closed-Sony experience, and I should have learned the lesson...
