Corrupted Photos

Recently my iPhone photo's became corrupted. Earlier today my iPhone seemed to be working fine. I took photos for work, then when I got to my office and tried to download them, the automatic downloader (not iTunes) said I didn't have any photos on my iPhone. I've used this downloader many times to download photo's off my iPhone. It's a PC. I opened up the camera roll and sure enough, there were photo's on there. Old ones and the new ones I'd taen earlier today. But a bunch of the photo thumbs were blacked out and when I tap on them to view the picture closer it's all black. The blacked out photo's are randomly in the middle of my camera roll, but all the pictures taken AFTER the blacked out photo's, i.e., the photos I'd taken earlier today, were very grainy and pixelated. No I'm at home trying to download it with iTunes, but iTunes isn't showing any photo's on my iPhone, even though I can see them on there. Also, during my trouble shooting I turned on the camera and got a black screen. I tried taking photo's with it, but nothing was happening. I tried the facetime camera and the same thing occured. I exited out and back in a few times and the same thing happened, then randomly it started working again. I powered down my iPhone, but that didn't solve anything.

Help, what do I do?

I have a similar issue. I have some photos that are showing up like gray boxes with borders and some black. Some of the photos are not a full resolution, but look like thumbnails.

It happened about 3 or 4 days ago. I tried to delete the photos in the camera roll and all but a couple would delete. Looks like it could be a video that's bad too.

Now when I try to take photos or video the Camera App just quits after I click the photo or stop the record video.

Using an iPhone 4.

IOS 5.0

iTunes 10.5.1 (42)

iMac running Mac OS X 10.6.8

Think I should update to iPhone software version 5.0.1 with the current issue or wait to get it solved? I need to upgrade other software (iTunes and Mac OS) too, but not sure what order or when with iCloud and all, I have been concerned.

Also, on an interesting note, under General Settings -> About it says I have:

Videos: 2,147,483,664

Photos: 2,147,483,664

Any ideas here would be greatly appreciated.
