how to get bonjour64.msi file?

Hi everyone.

So I was cleaning out my computer to make room and I accidentally removed itunes64.msi and bonjour64.msi. I can't get any updates done without the bonjour64 but I cannot seem to find a specific file to download and I would rather not reformat my computer and I have itunes 10.5. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Nicole.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the User uploaded file thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.

Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Download and save a copy of the iTunes64setup.exe (64-bit installer file) from the Apple Website to your Hard drive:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

http://www.rarlab.com/

Right-click the iTunes64Setup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunes64Setup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunes64Setup".

Go into the folder and doubleclick the Bonjour64.msi file.

Does it install properly for you? If not, what error message do you get? (Precise text, please.)

If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

The Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility has replaced the Windows Installer Clean Up tool.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
