what is the hard drive (c:) called on a mac

I am a pc user and just a mac book pro (almost returned it) what is the hard drive destination i.e. c: , d: etc

Drive letters aren't used on a Mac. If you're interacting with it from a normal application, it's named Macintosh HD by default. If you're using the Terminal or other command line tools, it's /.
