need help recovering files after erasing hard drive

My computer was slow and after running disk utility i was told to insert the software disks, so i just decided to wipe it. I erased the harddrive and and re-installed snow leopard. I then used migration assistant to access time machine and choose most of my music, video, document, and photo files to restore but after i let it sit and move it all back on all i can find is my itunes files...no photos or documents, etc. But the space on my mac is limited, as if everything was copied back on. What do i do?

Also: i don't have iphoto anymore...and i'm not sure why or how to get it back.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6)
