was at school and it fell face down with an otter box that actually made the problem worse. I've heard stories where people got replacements free of charge. If I told apple what happened would they replace it?

Otterbox says that it is in no way thier responsibility to pay for repair. even though if it werent for the otterbox my ipad would be fine
Apple is under absolutely no obligation to replace it. If someone at Apple were to give you a replacement, it would be because he/she liked you, felt sorry for you and decided to do you a favor. Ask nice... But don't expect anything.
After having her iPad2 for less than 2 months, my wife dropped hers about 2 feet from the ground. While in an average style case, her screen was shattered, as well. She did have insurance on hers, which cost about $86, but it paid off after getting it replaced at no charge. Although, the salesman was very rude in our San Antonio location, it did get replaced after about a million questions as to how it was damaged. Good luck!
If the ipad would have landed face up it would have been fine. but it landed face down and the plastic covering the homebutton acted as a pressure point and completely spiderwebbed the glass. Im guessing if the case wasnt on it would be very minor damage if any

The entire point of buying an Otter Box case is to protect your iPad. What does their warranty say in case of damage?
I just bought my first one and it scares me to think how easy it can be broken, I assume an otterbox is a kind of protect case,if so how did it make it worse?
so did she admit to dropping it two feet? I was told if you drop it no matter what they will not cover the dammage.
She was truthful as to how it was damaged.
Checking with Otterbox is also an option
My wife thought I was nuts paying so much for the Otterbox Defender for my iPad2. I thought I was getting the best protection for the $$$. Any details as to how this case did more harm than good?
