Horn section drops out in Garageband '11? (6.0.4)

Some of the software instruments, such as pop horns, drop out after a measure or so, depending on how high a note its playing. It seems like garageband was trying to make it sort of realistic but its very annoying. Does anyone know how to stop it from doing this?

For most of the Horn sections the articulation is preset as "staccato" or "legato", but the articulation for a single note also may depend on the setting of the velocity slider, so a high velocity might turn a legato instrument into a staccato instrument on some notes with high velocity:

For the horns I use, I found the following articulation settings in the documention, but they do depend on the instrument:

Jam Pack 1

  • Funk Horn Section: Horn section with bright EQ , Highest velocity adds stab down from note.

Jam Pack 4: Symphony Orchestra Instruments, Instrument Articulations:

  • Orchestra French Horn: legato: 0-63, staccato: 64-127
  • Orchestra Fr. Horn Section: legato: 0-39 staccato: 40-87, crescendo: 88-127
  • Orchestra Trumpet Section: legato: 0-63, staccato: 64-127
  • Orchestra Trombone Section: legato: 0-63, staccato: 64-127
  • Orchestra Tuba legato: 0-63, staccato: 64-127
