iTunes Match Questions

Here are the problems I'm having with iTunes Match.

1. Like many people here I have multiple mainstream albums (that are available in iTunes) that match like 90% of the tracks in the album but upload 1 to 3 of them. This is really annoying and there is no way to force iTunes to check again or force it to match the tracks. I hope apple fixes this.

However, it did match 15,000 of my 16,000 tracks. But, there are definately quit a few tracks that it could match that it isn't matching. I do like how you can force it to accept duplicates if you want it too. I really think when it gives you an error that it should tell you WHY it has an error lol. I had one VBR track that it wouldn't upload until I converted it to mp3 and re-tried.

These are related to using iTunes Match on my iPhone 4s:

2. First I want to say all of my album art synced over perfectly for every albums when I view the albums. However, when I play a singular track the album art initially doesn't show up. But, if I back out of the song and go back to now playing it shows up just fine. But, if I stay in the song it never shows up. It's like it has to download the album art of that song, but it never updates it on the display until you exit out of the track and go back to now playing. That is a minor annoyance.

3. The other problem is that if I play a track from the cloud (it starts playing and download the track) and I lock my phone. Normally it would show the album art in the lockscreen. Even if the album art shows up in the music app it won't show up in the lock screen. It seems like sometimes if the song is completely downloaded it shows the album art on the lock screen. But, not if it is playing/downloading. This is really annoying. Because if I put a album on shuffle that hasn't been downloading ... no album art shows up on the lock screen anymore. 😟

So I tried adding my work pc to iTunes match - that has no music. I just wanted all my music from my home pc to show up.

Album art for 4 albums out of the entire library show album art! 4! The album art shows up on my iPhone! Albeit buggy as described above ... but WTH!

Ugh! Any ideas?

*Update* I turned off match on my work pc and turned it back on. Now only 1 album has album art! *sigh* It works even worse on a secondary computer then it does on my iPhone! lol

Seriously, Apple. 😟

*edit* - I would like to point out that I have over 6,000 songs not 1600 lol. Typed that wrong.

Ok on my work computer it pulled down the artwork for 27 of my 552 albums. 😟

Between the problems in the original post and this problem. Ugh.

All the album art shows up on my iPhone - even if it doesn't show it on the lock screen or show up right away after starting playing/downloading without going back into the song ... it at least shows up in the list of songs.

iTunes on my work computer shows the artwork of 27 albums out of 552. 😟

Does anyone have any ideas on these problems. Or should I contact Apple Support. Or will that be a waste of time?

This was predictable!

As soon as I download the song in iTunes it shows the album art:

Shouldn't the artwork show up all the time regardless of whether it's downloaded or not? Like it does on my iPhone? Since it does for 27 albums on my work computer.

Apple really needs to fix some bugs.

It is worth noting that even if I delete that album I just downloaded the artwork stays.

It might help to go back to your home computer and toggle Update iTunes Match under the store menu, and then check your other devices.

This is exactly what I am trying to do, however the iTunes match "Page" seems to have disappreared under the Store menu. Does anyone know how to get it back? I want to start checking my library again as there are still tracks that have not uploaded.

Thanks in Advance.
