how to sync ical, iCloud, iphone

hello,

it seems as though my icloud isnt working or working correctly or i just don't understand it. if i create an event on my iphone, it will not sync to icloud. it will sync to i cal via itunes if i mark it to sync. If i create an event in ical, it will not sync to icloud but will sync to iphone if i have calendar syncing set up in itunes. If i create an event on icloud, it will eventually push to both my MBP and iphone.

I don't want to have calendar syncing set up in itunes. I thought the whole idea of icloud was to "push/connect" to all devices. I understand it wont sync my google calendar.

Any ideas or tips to help me?

Thanks

Derek

Wait, I'm having the same exact issue. I don't understand how you fixed it. Please explain how you got this to work! I don't see icloud anywhere on my iCal on my mac or on my iphone....i just have on my iphone 4s in Settings > iCloud > Calendars > "ON" but nothing ever syncs unless i manually connect my iphone to my macbook pro with an iphone cable and sync it via itunes...

is your mac setup to sync to cloud? If not, you need to go to Preferences>accounts on iCal and setup to sync to iCloud. i'm on Lion, if you click " calendars, should look similar to below.

When you make an entry, make sure you choose the calendar under "icloud" rather than "on my mac" and it should sync to all your devices as long as they are set up to sync to icloud.
