Phone Number Format in Numbers App for iPhone
How can I create a cell format in the Numbers app for iPhone or iPad where when I type in a 10 digit number, it translates it to a phone number?
Is this possible?

Yvan,
I appreciate your mutual understanding to not ask questions that users can figure out without "bothering" others, but your response deals with Desktop Numbers, and not the App like I initially requested. I looked for this feature in the watered down Mobile version, but could not find it. I'm assuming it doesn't exist because all the literature I've found doesn't mention it.
Let me know. Thanks
MF
Not sure if this will help your situation, but:
I do not see a way to do this directly on the iPad, however I am able to create a Custom Format on the desktop Numbers, e.g. ( 123 ) 456 - 7890, and the format sticks when I open the file on the iPad.
I can also apply that Custom Format to other cells as long as 1 cell in the selection already has the Custom Format (when this is the case, the Custom Format shows up as a option in the list of formats in the ( i ) menu).
So, I can enter the 10 digit number in those cells and it is "automatically" formatted as a phone number. Seems to work well.
As you see in the answer from 'ronniefromcalifornia', my answer was accurate.

How can I CREATE a cell format IN THE NUMBERS APP FOR IPHONE OR IPAD where when I type in a 10 digit number, it translates it to a phone number?
That's what I wrote! Wow... I'm really at a loss for words.
MF
I missed a word.
I have no plan to use an iOS device so I can't help you about what may be done under this operating system.
