will IDE - USB HD adapter work with my Mac?

I'd like to move data from the HD of an old Ibook G4 that died (the drive is probably OK) to my new mac. Employee at Mac store told me that any IDE - usb adapter could do the job.

I've looked around and the most commonly avialable type here in the Netherlands is the:

"Controller card USB to IDE/SATA Adapter, brand ICIDU"

I can not find any confirmation that it will work with mac, and shops selling have no idea, and won't garantee?

Any thoughts?
