For Internet it likely has Safari already on it, but you can download older versions of FireFox for free...

One of my favorite word processors for Mac is Bean. It is small, uncluttered modest but still with features, and free. You can save to other formats for compatibility with other software and longevity. I like the latter because when you write something, 99% of the effort is in the writing and 1% in the formatting. If I have something I wrote 20 years ago I don't want it stuck in some arcane format that only a dead application will open (e.g., my documents in MultiMate). I'd rather have it in text format, or something like rtf format that upports basic formatting but has some lifetime to it and even should it disappear I'll still be able to open the document and rescue the text.
