Do audiobooks sync via the iCloud?

My iphone 4GS syncs to my desktop, but I'm traveling, and purchased and downloaded an audiobook from iTunes to my MacBook Pro. How can I transfer it to my iPhone so I can listen in my car on my trip home?

Thanks,

Jason

The problem is that my iPhone already syncs to my desktop, and iTunes doesn't play nice if you try to sync to two machines.

Alternatively, if I try to download the same audio book to my iPhone, iTunes on my iPhone prompts me to re-purchase the same audio book. This is a distinct contrast to the App Store behavior in which if you already own an App, you can re-downloaded on another device for free.

So, it seems that audiobooks don't sync via the iCloud, nor do audiobooks allow re-downloading on authorized devices.

Sad but true - to move an Audiobook download between devices you have to sync from device to device.

So, if you download on your iPad then sync to your laptop to get it on your laptop and then you can sync to your iPhone. (And make sure sync audiobooks is ticked in the Sync dialog for each device).

At least it works and you are not tied to the original device.

So, you can only download once but you can sync it to other devices.

And beware - it is not stored in the Cloud (yet) - so it makes sense to copy to at least one other device for backup.

Yep, you nailed it. Even Steve Jobs understood this and spoke about it. Folks don't just pirate because they wanna "steal" stuff. They do it because it provides them a BETTER PRODUCT. Something they actually possess and "own" without artificial limitations placed onto them.

Until studios, publishers, etc get this, pirating will remain a go to resource for huge number of people and they'll miss out on a LOT of revenue.
