can my iphone become a hotspot?

Current iPhones are capable of being used as personal hotspots. Whether or not yours can depends on your carrier. Contact them for availability and pricing.

I used to have an HTC sensation where no matter our carrier ( cosmote Greece ) it was easy to make it as a hotspot.

I got just yesterday the iPhone 5 where it seems its not so easy...or it needs maybe an app or something.

Please if possible let me know how on earth I can do that.

Did you bother to read any of the previous posts in this thread? Such the one I posted right above yours? Read it again. It answers your question.

Well let me answer back...carrier has nothing to do with making my mobile phone a hotspot.

If someone uses for example an HTC sensation device,that person can easily make the phone into hotspot just pressing ON the button that says WIFI HOTSPOT.

My question was an easy one...do I have to download a program or an app to my iPhone 5 in order to get that.?

You do NOT need to download an App to utilize the hotspot feature. However, you cellular provider does need to support it, and YOU need to subscribe to a tethering plan with your cellular provider.

As I said the first time I answered the thread: the phone is capbable of acting as a personal hotspot and your carrier has everything to do with it.
