iTunes Extra not working

I have download three movies recently with iTunes and the iTunes Extras bonus content does not work. I get a menu screen but no content. I can highlight the links. I can access the chapters and watch the movie and access online websites.

I have iTunes 10.5.1 and am running on Windows 7. I have downloaded The Incredibles, Dark Knight, and The Other Guys. The bonus content on all three are unavailable to me. I have been instucted to download The Incredibles and the Dark Knight again and no luck.

Also, a few months ago, I download Red and Xmen Origins: Wolverine, and those Extras work. So what gives?😕

Same here. I have the same problem. Any new movie that comes out, I usually buy it. The movie and the extras are two separate entries in the library. I play the extras. I click to play a featurette and nothing. It just sits there. This has been happening with every movie that I purchased for the holidays. I can pull up the extras main screen but when I go to play something then nothing happens.

Same for me... Running Itunes on a windows PC with 7 - 64 bit,

I have found that the Extras video files did in fact download to the following (for example): C:\Itunes Media\Downloads\The Smurfs - iTunes Extras _ Raja Go.tmp\The Smurfs - iTunes 1.tmp\download.m4v

The same is repeated for each video file included in the Extras for a particular movie.

The videos are fine (not corrupted or incomplete, just no titles (they are all named download) and no way to copy them into the actual video folder in Extras folder with the correct file names so the system can see them properly.

Also noticed that for some of the Extras, the background music is missing altogether.

This problem just started recently (any movie purchased in December) and seems to be the way it is.

No changes to my system and it has worked with no issues up until this recent problem with Extras.

Having the same problem with twilight movies.

Apple have been hopeless, all they seem capable of doing is adding the ability to download the faulty data again and again. That is outragious. 9Gb for the eclipse extras. I am expecting my ISP to throw a fit about abuse of the fair use policy.

Somewhat relieved to hear that others are experiencing the same issue and that I am not alone.

If there are only a few extras then you can manually rename them. You have to go into the controllers folder. Open the data.js file in a text editor and you will see that the extras files need to be called. Then play each of the videos and try to match up the various bits.

As I say this is workable for 6 videos, but eclipse has 66. In addition they are not all set out in the data.js file.

If they cannot supply a product that you purchased they should give you a refund. Whether they will or not remains to be seen.

66. Ouch!

For everyone's info. I have submitted a formal bug report to highlight the issue. Hopefully it will get addressed soon, though you may still have to either manually repair the content you've already downloaded or request replacements once it has been confirmed that the problem has been resolved. Depending on exactly where the issue lies it might not be that easy to automatically detect and repair all partial Extras installations.

The extras for Kung Fu Panda 2 are missing bits and pieces. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes (10.5.2) that your support team keeps on telling me to do. Obviously that hasn't meant that the extras will work. I've already reported a problem and redownloaded everything. It still does not work. Maybe you should have them check for bugs before they release anything.

I'm just a fellow user. Have you got back to store support and informed them that the replacement download under the new build still fails to work properly?

I've no doubt that each successive build of iTunes is tested but it is in the nature of software development that some bugs may not show themselves until the product gets exposed to real users working outside of the test environment.

As I say, I've submitted a report on this issue (linking to this & similar threads) via Apple Bug Reporter which, in principle, should bring it to the attention of those who can fix it. You can also use iTunes Feedback to report the issue.

I started another thread before I saw this one so I'm adding the post here.

Just downloaded Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Movie plays fine but the extras will not (on my PC). Clicking on the extras does nothing. I can select scenes from the Extras but nothing else. How do you play extras on ATV? Movie is ok but do not even see the extras.
