HP does not support or provide drivers for the G55 for OS X 10.6.x or 10.7.x. You will need to use third party drivers such as Gutenprint or HPIJS . These drivers will support only the printer portion of your device.

Additionally, the OfficeJet G55 is one of several HP printers that may not use a standard USB port. See http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/hpijs- USB . You can always try, but there are no guarantees. You could also try using a parallel-to-USB adpater.

My best advice is to replace your OfficeJet with a new model.
