Ahhhh!!.. this is the 'volume license' start up screen..... not a 'retail licence'.

Where did you get your copy from...? Your screen shot tells us it wasn't a single user purchase from apple.... mmmmmm!!!!

A mystery indeed!!! Reveal your source - to the splendour of the forum.

Volume License is usually associated with education, or software training organisations, or post production houses, where they run FCP on several machines, for example: - it's cheaper to buy a x 10 volume license rather than 10 individual versions - usually it's one serial number which allows the software to run on however many machines the volume is for.

Dear Andrea, in your original post, you said 'all the suite works' - I assume this means it opens up and functions properly.

A volume licence will work fine.... until the number of copies (which are licensed) exceeds the number that are open at any one time - for instance if there is a 10 user licence and 10 copies are open on the network at various computers.... it won't allow you to open an 11th until one of those 10 have shut down.

You can of course open it as normal by disconnectiing the computer from the internet/network, so the network doesn't know an extra copy is switched on.

If you're not having any problems, I would ignore it.

It's because you installed it from a DMG file.... it's common when handling a multi user licence for someone to install the software (along with serial no) on an initial computer.... and then create a DMG file.... this means they can then install a copy on computers without going through the long installation process.... involving lots of dics being inserted one after the other.

As I said, if it works, then don't worry about it Andrea.
