we have a question.
We are not able to upload an image, stored in the iPad to a website, e.g. a forum. The upload button is greyed out. An if we try to select a picture, it is not possible to do so.
What is going on?

You can't upload content via Safari - you could try the iCab Mobile browser from the app store as that supports some uploading, though I don't think that it works on all sites.
You can use Photobucket for iPad in the App Store to upload pictures.

but these solutions are all depending on an external (file) service, to which photos should be uploaded first. This is cumbersome and, in terms of privacy, very ambivalence. The truth is, that it is for my friend, as she want´s to upload pictures to her favorite forum, which should be done through a browser.
It is really astonishing, that such a simple task, which happens all the time, is not supported by the iPad. I was not aware of this obstacle, before she bought one.
I hope, that there will be a fix to this problem with the next Update of iOS.

I don't think that the iCab Mobile browser does need an external file service, I believe (I don't have iCab) that it can upload photos that are in the Photos app - but it doesn't work on all sites.
iCab Mobile tries to connect to a server, somewhere in the world, and wants to upload the Photo, which are on iPad to that server. I erased it immediately, but maybe, that i didn´t get the idea behind it....
IN iOS 6, coming this fall as a free update, this feature will be built in to safari.
