Can AirPlay go to multiple speakers?

Hi,

I'm contemplating a new stereo setup, and I'm looking to use either AirPlay-enabled speakers, receiver, AirPort Express, or Apple TV 2 as devices to receive AirPlay signals. I'd like to have multiple speakers around the house all playing the same content.

I'd just like to confirm that I can actually tell iTunes on my Mac to play to more than one, perhaps up to four, AirPlay receiving devices to drive the local speakers at the same time.

Can I do the same from my iPhone/iPad as well?

Hey Eric. Yes all of what you said is correct. Lots ofApple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Nano) can transmit to AirPlay compatiblespeakers, amplifiers, an Apple TV or speakers connected to AirPort Express.

Eric,

I don't think you can stream to MULTIPLE AirPort Expresses without using the Remote App. There was rumor of this being available in 4.3 but it's not in iOS 5...at least not that I can determine.

So the way I do it is I use the Apple Remote App to stream from my MacPro iTunes library and then just select the multiple AirPort Express from there.
