can't buy itunes gift card

is your friend in the same country as you? iTunes doesnt allow gifting between countries. IE if you live in the US you will only be able to gift to someone if they also live in the US.

if ur getting a security code error try completely removing the billing information from your account and readding it.

If theres nothing wrong with your credit card on your account and your recipient is in the same counrty, it may just be something to do with your account. I'd try emailing into customer support and see if they can figure it out.

A HA....I did it...I hung in there, tried the Support telephone no., got hung up on after referrring me to the online support, which does not answer this question. Somehow I asked for a live Chat, went back and forth with that person, who said he sent me over to the "expedited" support people. After much discussion there, the second person looked up my account, and told me that first time purchasers of gift cards (my attempt was for an iTunes gift card) ares sometiomes blocked to prevent fraud! How insane is that. But he unblocked my acount, and I was actually able to buy the iTunes gift card. Try this if you're still interested?
