Unfortunately you cannot roll back to an earlier version of the iOS. Apple does not support it. You can try a couple more things and see if they help. Try quitting all apps and restart. Also, clear Safari and see if that helps.

To quit all apps - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

If the apps that are crashing are the third part apps and not the Apple preinstalled apps - try downloading another app - any free app - you can always delete it if you don't want it. Sometimes that helps and it's worth a try.

If these don't help, you could try restoring your iPad if you want to give that a try. AFAIK, the Safari crashes are still a known issue in iOS 5. If you want to report it as a bug, you can do so here.

Its running out of memory. The Apple tech confirmed this yesterday when I sent him the diags result directly from my iPad as well as logs from my PC. They know that this is a widespread problem but won't admit it. I really wnt my money back but I doubt that will happen. Their solution is to not have any more than one tab open at a time. What a crock. I guess they want all of us to buy the iPad 2 or 3 when it comes out. Its not likely they will fix the memory problem. If they continue to jerk me around, I'll give my iPad to my son and buy an Android tablet. Pretty. WWSD?
