I am looking for a desktop docking station for an iPhone 4s that has 1) speakers, 2) an alarm clock and 3) the ability to charge the phone while IN the protective case. Any suggestions?
think that would depend on the type of protective case
there are many types

I just bought a Phillips Fidelio docking speaker with a free APP that does what you need plus more. I am loving it because it sounds great and only costs $50! Check out www.ElectronicsExpo.com.
iHome seems to do this well. If you go caseless, hook a pair of cheap speakers up to the Apple Universal dock and you're good to go.
