[xcode] How does Jump in symbol work?

In Xcode,

menu > navigate > jump in {current file} , and its shortcut is ⌘L,

Type line number work well, but what's the "Symbol"? I didn't find way to use it.

What is the 'symbol' referring to and how to use it?
