SMPTE Timecode

Are you asking about an audible TC track, from a timecode generator, usually used as CH.2 TC for composers?
If you are, I believe not. You can give someone visible TC burn in window, but not audible TC.
There are solutions with dub houses ( they can give you dubs of your master with VIS.TC and CH.2TC... although I'm guessing you already know that.
If anyone knows of this in FCP, I'd love to know as well.

YOu need to have a capture card with a TC OUT connection. Papyrus is right.

Hmmmm....Well, I notice that my Aurora doesn't have TC out...a friend just mentioned that the Decklink doesn't...and looking at the diagram for the AJA I/O...it doesn't either.

I didn't realize this. I guess I am used to patch panels where I see it. I think that TC outs and in might be limited to decks. What I have always done to get audible TC is output to a beta deck, then take the TC out from that and patch it to the right channel of a VHS dub.

I didn't realize that the card didn't have that out until I looked just now.

Decklink does not provide audible Timecode out.

The easiest solution I know of is to digitize the audio timecode and put it as playback on an audio track.

Is there a way to do a timecode burn in on a print to video?
I would like to do a timecode burn in on a tape with the timecode generated by FCP. Is there a way to do this?

Use the Timecode Reader/Generator plugin. You'll probably have to nest your sequence, then put the plugin on it and render.

The Timecode Reader/Generator will only go to 2 minutes. How do I get past this problem? I'm using the effect in the video folder. Is this the right one?

no, I did not nest my sequence. I'm looking on the effects tab in the video folder. There are two effects one is timecode reader and the other is timecode generator.

How do I nest a sequence?

Highlight your entire timeline...type APPLE-A.

Then go to SEQUENCE>NEST ITEMS.

Then add the TC Generator. The READER reads the TC of the existing clip.

You should probably duplicate your sequence before doing this. There isn't a "Remove Nesting" command...

Honestly, Chugger, the only time I've EVER needed to deal with audio timecode has been for Composer Cassettes... and even that has not been for years and years...
