Failure uploading an iPhoto photo book.

I am on an extended hold waiting for Apple Support to come online. It's been over 15 minutes. I miss the good customer service I'm used to experiencing.

I completed an iPhoto photo book and am uploading it so it can be printed. It assembles and then I receive this error message: Click Retry to upload the failed asset again or Cancel Order to cancel your Order. What would you like to do?

I click Retry and nothing happens. The error message goes offscreen and then reappears and the book will not upload.

I finally got frustrated between the horrible music that is playing while I am on hold and the error message repeating itself over and over again and clicked "Cancel Order" and attempted to upload the book again.

I recently switched to Lion. I wonder if the problem is in the upgrade to Lion. It certainly caused a lot of other problems, particularly with Busy Cal, which I had to delet and go back to iCal.

So, my question is (1) how to get ahold of customer service in a timely manner and (2) how to upload a photo book that keeps failing over and over again. I have a deadline and need to get this addressed promptly.

Apple does seem to be having issues - not only with the iPhoto book uploads, but also with access to technical support - one hour and 25 minutes have passed since I began attempting to contact technical support. I've burned up battery time on my land line phone and my cell phone. I hate racking up minutes on my cell phone holding for Apple. I'm pretty soured on Apple right now.

After wading through customer support for an hour and thirty seven minutes, I was told by an Apple rep that there are problems with the Apple system. It is not user error. He was pretty unapologetic. I asked why Apple didn't have the technology to post information about the service being down so customers would be informed. He said that they wouldn't want to post anything until the problem is solved, which makes a whole lot of sense. Let's hear it for waiting until the problem is no longer an issue and then posting it on the Apple Discussion Board. 😉

I am experiencing the same issue. All my software is up to date so there is a problem with the store. I have ordered all my books a few days ago but Apple keeps cancelling them. I called customer service today and I was told that the products are discontinued. Apparently the soft medium and large book are not available. I am especially frustrated since the tracking system stated that my product would be shipped for days and six days later it is cancelled by Apple without an explanation.

OMG. I was just looking online for alternatives to Apple's hardcover photo books. It would mean recreating the book in another system; however, it seems that may be necessary. I looked at Snapfish, CSV and Walgreen's; however, I am looking for something professional that has minimal print on the pages and a nice hardbound cover. I am shocked to hear that Apple canceled products, but still has them on the website and that the tracking system stated that your product would be shipped and then six days later, Apple canceled it without an explanation. Now I am going to put more energy into finding an alternative to the Apple hardcover photo albums, since I would like to have these by Christmas and I will be creating four books. I don't want to go to the time and trouble to create four books, only to have Apple, six days later, cancel the order without explanation. This is all very strange. It is not the level of professionalism that I am used to at Apple. If I don't find an alternative to Apple hardcover photo books, I'm going to the Apple Store for a one-to-one to see if they can help me iron out this issue and get my book printed in time for Christmas gift giving. What better gift than a personally created photo album. This is supposed to be fun! Apple is sucking the fun out of Christmas gift giving, unfortunately. 😠

Hey Apple Customer Service 😁

Would seem only reasonable ot have you respond to all of our concerns... right?

We buy Apple instead of PC, because we expect better...

I know Steve as left the building... but, surely the quality of APPLE remains - I trust it does.

Please enlighten us on our ability to order books through iPhoto.

Thank you!!!!
