Getting a spreadsheet to fit on one page.

Hello Humans,

I know this is an easy one, but I never use spreadsheets.
I have an .xls file that was emailed to me. When I print it, it wants to split it up into several pages. This is basically a simple order form which I should be able to fit two on a single sheet of paper.

How do I resize it so it fits on one page, or better yet two on one page.

Thanks for your help in advance.

There's no easy answer since there's a few variables to consider. Assuming that the xls file translated neatly and all the columns, rows and fonts look normal, AW does not have the same "make it fit" function that Excel has. However, under Page Setup, there is a scale command. Also, make sure the print range is correct. This is under Options, Set Print Range.

If this still is not quite working right, a down and dirty trick is to convert the file to a PDF using File, Print, PDF, Save As PDF. Open this new PDF file in Adobe Reader (not Preview). There are all sorts of page layout functions in the Print dialog box.

Thanks for the response Ken.

I was afraid of that!

The rows and columns don't look normal so maybe the translation is the problem.

I tried setting the print range, adjusting the scale, changing the page setup, and nothing was printing correctly.

I had even thought of saving it as a PDF and Photoshopping it. But then I read your post about opening it with Acrobat Reader. That worked GREAT! It opened up looking the way it should and it printed great.

Thanks a million.
