2.0 GB? How much storage does the nano really have

THE 2.o gb is a ruff estimate after you load settings and things like the menus and aplications on the ipod it will require a small amount of your space.

You may also try converting you music files in itunes to mp3 instead of wav or aac wave and acc files will sound better but will take up more space than an mp3

also the length of song may have somthing to do with space. If you download a 3 minute song it obviously will take up less space than a classical song that is like 12 minutes long. So look at the length of songs.

The capacity is a bit under 2 GB, but 900 MB should certainly fit. Be sure you don't have other songs on the iPod taking up space, that you don't have pictures on it, and that you haven't used it as a USB drive and have files that are taking up space (including emptying the trash if you had some files but trashed them).

There is not even 2GB of space on the 2GB Nano.
You get 1.8625GB of space.
In this 1.8.25GB of actual space on the 2GB Nano, around 20MB is used by the iPod OS, the games, the database, etc.

A drive sold as 2 GB, has 2 Billion bytes.
2 Billion bytes does not equal 2 GB.
2 GB = 1.8625 GB.

Perhaps I should have wrote, "In addition to the Nano having only 1.86265 to begin with, an additional 20MB is used by the OS."

In Windows XP, I went to control pannel, administrative tools, computer managment, disk management, then clicked on my ipod. For me, I have 78 mb of unallocated space at the begining, then about 1.8 gb of fat32 in the end... So is the 78 mb of unallocated actually being used anytime, or is it wasted?

How do u empty the trash?

hi i'm new i´m from mexico city sorry about my english jejeje and i have the same problem with the space in my ipodnano 2g how can i chance the form of my song´s? the problem it´s the same i can´t put more than 150 song´s in my ipod all are in the version of mp3 but the biggest song its about 6000kb so what can be the problem?

You don't know how to empty the trash on your computer?

Restore the iPod.
If you don't know how to do that, open the users guide.
