alphabetize paragraphs

How can I arrange alphabetically, multiple paragraphs? I want to put my cited works in a research paper in alphabetical order of the author's name.

Pagers can sort Tables, but not Paragraphs, so you'll need to convert your paragraphs to a table, sort the table, then conveert the table back to paragraphs.

The paragraphs must start with the words that they are to be sorted by.

Each paragraph must be separated from the next by a return.

  • Select all of the paragraphs to be sorted.
  • Go Format > Table > Convert Text to Table
  • Select all rows in the Table.
  • Open the Inspector and choose the Table inspector.
  • In the Edit Rows and Columns section, click the pop-up menu and choose Sort Ascending.
  • Select all rows in the table (they will still be selected if you've done nothing to deselect them).
  • Go Format > Table > Convert Table to Text.

Done.

Regards,

Barry
