Latest EFI Firmware for macmini4,1?

I am trying to troubleshoot issues with a Memory Upgrade for my Mac Mini (Mid 2010). I get the common continuous single beep error when I try to put a new memory module in the bottom slot. I have tried resetting the PRAM NVRAM and SMC and neither resolve the problem. I have verified that the modules work properly, they were recently removed from a working MacBook Pro.

The only thing I haven't been able to try is an EFI Firmware upgrade. When I browse to the EFI Firmware support matrix (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1237), macmini4,1 (Mac Mini (Mid 2010)) is not listed. The EFI 1.4 upgrade won't install because the hardware isn't supported. EFI 1.2 says it doesn't need the update.

What is the current EFI Firmware update for macmini4,1? Does anyone know why it is missing from the matrix?

going through this exact same issue...i swear mac mini 4,1 is the red headed step child in the mac family. one issue i noticed on my machine is that i dont have "mac mini EFI firmware update.app" in my utilities. whats even stranger is that i have "macbook EFI firmware update.app"??? I suspect that when i set up my system from a time machine backup (from my old macbook) that it carried over that utility.

i have an appt at the genius bar tomorrow at 10:45 am so hopefully i can get this resolved...

if anybody out there has a mid 2010 mac mini 4,1 that would be willing to email my "mac mini EFI firmware update.app" that would be spectacular...broffee@gmail.com. somehow i have a feeling the "geniuses" wont be able to track down this utility for me

Please let me know if you find anything out. I obtained 4GB of memory from a friend that was upgrading his Macbook Pro. I was considering purchasing the 8GB kit for my Mac Mini, but I don't want to put any money out if it isn't going to work.
