my ipod won't update ):

i have tried 5x to update my ipod touch and itunes goes through the whole process of trying to download (takes about 80 min) and then when it gets to the end it says the network session timed out. How can I update my ipod! i have shut the ipod off turned it back on and nothing...it updated the itunes just fine but it won't update the ipod.

iPod touch, Windows 7

Disable or turn off your firewall and anti-virus software and try the download again.

Try here but what it says is:

iTunes Store reporting error - 3259


Resolution

  1. Update to the latest iTunes software version.
  2. Try turning off your Firewall to see if the issue is resolved (this includes the built-in Firewall or a third-party Firewall such as Norton Personal Firewall, McAfee, Symantec, etc.). See KB #HT1601for steps if using Windows. See KB #TS1997 for steps if using Mac OS X.
