Os x 10.5 and os x 10.6 on separate partitions ?

Question

Os x 10.5 and os x 10.6 on separate partitions ?

My MacBook is running os x 10.5 and I would like to install os x 10.6 on a separate partition (I'll have to create one). And then I would like to switch between the two by using startup disk in system preferences. Is this possible ? I need to run some software that runs on os x 10.6 but don't want to upgrade my os x 10.5 just yet (or at all).

It's possible. See http://macs.about.com/od/applications/ss/diskutilitysize.htm As a safety precaution, you should backup your current OS 10.5 system/files.

What size hard drive do you have and how much free space? After you make the new partitions, you need adequate free space on each partition.
