photo streaming

For some reason my photos are not streaming to my othere devices. I think I have everything turned on in order to stream. I would like to know step by step instructios in how to get the pictures onto my Iphone4 from my imac. I would like to carry the pictures to the states next month. I downloaded the pictures from a memory card from my camera on to my mac ....now I would like to put those pictures on to my iphone 4.

the other question is do the pictures stay on the other devices permanately after they've been streamed??
