iTunes Match Error 5002

I purchased an iTunes Match subscription in the USA when I was there three months ago. My country in my account was USA.

My purchase history. There appears to 16/11/2011, order no. MHD51SFY0D, valued at $ 24.99, purchased in the USA.

Well, now I'm in Brazil and would like to access the iTunes Match in Brazil here. Now, my country in my account is Brazil.

When I enable the option on my iphone "iTunes Match" the following message:

"You are not currently subscribed to iTunes Match. Use iTunes on your computer to subscribe."

When AGAIN I subscribe iTunes Match and sign my Apple ID, I receive the error below:

Was not possible to buy "iTunes Match". An unknow error occurred (5002).

Some observations:

1. My credit card is international.

2. I've bought others items like apps.

3. I've reset my password and did not work

4. I use the same account for iCloud and works fine

How can I solve this issue? I need to buy again with another account?I hope not, after all I've paid for service...

Thanks for the help.

This Apple article provides some insight -> iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting

"Error 5002"

This alert is often the result of an issue with verifying your billing.

  1. Quit iTunes.
  2. Open iTunes.
  3. Test the issue.
  4. If it persists, sign in to store.apple.com using your iTunes account
  5. Click on Change account information
  6. Modify or remove your credit card information.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Test the issue.

So, it sounds like the problem is the address associated with your credit card.

Try contacting iTunes Support using Express Lane. they may be able to give you a refund on the service that isn't available at your current location.

It did not work. I have done everything and nothing ...

It seems the source of the problem was the purchase of itunes match by country / region USA and then return for Brazil, is not it?

PS. I tried to buy with a different country / region USA and it worked. Just not submit ...

Any other suggestions?

Thanks ahead.

Hi Sergio,

I'm experiencing the exact same problem as you. I've recently moved country (from Ireland to the UK). When my old iTunes Match subscription expired I updated my account region to that of the UK and then attempted to subscribe to iTunes Match but I keep getting the 5002 error message. I'm able to buy music and apps using my new UK card details so the problem doesn't appear to be with the payment details, more with iTunes Match not being able to cope with a change of region.

I've tried contacting iTunes Support but have had no response and it's been over a week.

Have you had any success yourself?

Regards,

Ian
