Anyone running Lion on 2007 mini?

I'm thinking of upgrading my 2007 mini (2GHz Core 2 Duo, 2G RAM, 320G drive) to Lion from Snow Leopard mainly so I can run Xcode 4.2. Is anyone running Lion on a comparable 2007 mini? Any issues? Does it run or just execute (i.e. how fast is it?). Can I put 4G of RAM in that box or is it limited to 2G? Would 4G be of any help? Thanks...

I upgraded the memory on my mid 2007 Mac mini to 3GB (even though its specs state it can only support 2Gb). It has the 2Ghz Duo Core processor and 120
GB hard drive.

I upgraded to OSX Lion and it works fine. Only the usual complaint of too many "beach balls" - which I don't really nottice. Lion requires 2 Gb RAM. I searched for Quartz Debug, but could not find it/ get it to work the way I wanted it to. (I was trying to change screen resolutions).

I have a Mid-2007 Intel 1.83 GHz Core 2 Duo Mac Mini with 2 GB of RAM and 320 GB hard drive running Lion just fine...

I'm not sure if it is possible to install 4 GB of RAM, I know like pasha25 you are able to install 1GB stick and a 2 GB stick. I would recomend trying for 4 gigs, if you are a multi tasker it can be sluggish. But I mainly use it as a media center and have it connected to my 60 inch Sharp TV. Plays 720p video fine but it drops frames in 1080p and 1080i.

Keep us updated if you try to put 4 gigs in it. I want to do that to mine! I have a 13 inch Mid-2010 MacBook. my buddy had 2x 4GB DDR3 sticks that didn't work in his *cough cough* windows machine, he gave them to me to try in the laptop and sure enough they work in it!! So the MacBook FLYS with that installed!

I recently installed Lion on my mac mini (2GB RAM, 320GB HD) only because I had to, since mobileme is EOL by June. No other feature of Lion, beyond iCloud, would make me upgrade out of fear of losing the decent speed of Snow Leopard.

However, Lion runs just as fast and I may get the beachball rarely but the overall experience is not different than SL. Lion was installed on top of my SL setup, so I suppose a clean installation would make things even better, but I didn't have the time, and I also wanted to test this way of upgrading.. Lion alos runs on my early 2008 MBP after a clean install and there are no speed issues there as well. Now, I am not a developer and I don't edit movies, but for the everyday tasks I use my Macs, Lion is on par with SL on terms of speed. Oh, and I could live without the constant animations of app windows in Lion...

For a relatively recent switcher as me (I came on board in 2005), running decently the latest OS in 5 yrs hardware is more than enough to make me stick to the Mac. Apple respects customers in a way other PC users can only dream of...

So, trust your mac and upgrade it!
